Over the next 12 months, Sonoma State University will begin transitioning to the Common Human Resources System (CHRS), with a planned go-live in Spring 2026. CHRS is a CSU-systemwide initiative to unify and modernize Human Resource systems across all campuses. This change will:

  • Improve efficiency across the CSU
  • Standardize HR processes
  • Enhance employee self-service capabilities, including mobile access.

We know that changes to familiar systems can take some getting used to. Thank you in advance for your patience and engagement as we move through this transition together. While CHRS will bring some adjustments to how we complete employment-related tasks, it also brings long-term benefits like streamlined operations, improved reporting capabilities, and greater flexibility for systemwide HR support.

We’ll continue to share regular updates. In the meantime, here are some key things to know:

What is CHRS?
CHRS, or the Common Human Resources System, is a CSU-wide initiative to consolidate HR systems into one unified platform with standardized data and processes.

Does CHRS replace PeopleSoft?
No. CHRS is the new MyHR PeopleSoft system. What’s new is how it looks and functions: The landing page will look different, with tile-style navigation (similar to MySSU and CFS), along with easy access to Favorites and Recent navigation via the right-hand menu.

Who will be affected? Faculty, staff, and administrators will see some changes in how employment-related tasks are completed as processes and procedures are standardized across campuses.

Why is this happening?
By moving to a single system instead of maintaining separate ones across the system, CHRS provides cost efficiencies, enhances reporting capabilities, and expands self-service functionality, including mobile access.
